1965, in Sarrey, Haute Marne, France, Mr Chesneau Christian created his own polishing company at home.
He worked in the cutlery sector, because Sarrey is located near Nogent, known for 3 centuries for this specialty.
In 1995, the company Chesneau diversified. Forges de Bologne (Group Manoir Industries) became the first new customer.
One year later, Frederic Chesneau, Christian’s son, joined the company.
The work load increased, the company now needed to expand. The first extension was completed in 1997, a second in 1998 to house the administrative offices.
On 1 April 1999, the family business became "SARL CHESNEAU Christian et Fils".
To satisfy the requirements of the new prestigious customers (SNECMA, GKN Aerospace),
SARL CHESNEAU Christian et fils equipped themselves with high-tech and precision machines
not only for polishing but also for finishing and measuring.
The company also installs a tool for computer assisted production management (CAPM), guaranteeing the traceability of products during processing.
This modernization strategy for a better quality policy helped us to be certified ISO 9001: 2008 for quality and ISO 13485 for medical.
The status of the company has changed. CHESNEAU SARL has become CHESNEAU SAS.
The surface of the company increased initially from 500 m² to 6000 m² in 2012.
